About Us

A new specialist business shaped by substantial practitioner experience.

Vigil-Logic Certus brings practitioner experience in sourcing, validation, classification, role intelligence and market definition to a new specialist B2B data business.

Why VLC exists

Available data can still leave the important question unresolved.

Business information can be present, structured and apparently complete while still being outdated, differently represented, weakly supported or unsuitable for the decision it is expected to support.

VLC was established to help clients address these problems through a scope suited to the requirement. Research, established data methods and automation can contribute, with context and evidence helping explain the result and its limitations.

How VLC evolved

The company is newer than the operational experience behind it.

VLC’s operating approach draws on experience developed across established data and partnership environments. Repeated exposure to demanding B2B data requirements revealed where data can remain technically correct while becoming weak in identity, context, relevance or intended use.

Operational delivery Work came before the company.

Experience was developed inside established agency, data-provider and partnership environments.

Shared learning Recurring problems became recognisable patterns.

The same boundaries repeatedly appeared across sourcing, cleansing, classification, roles, markets and communication data.

Stronger vision Judgement needed governance.

The aim became to make evidence, context and uncertainty more explicit rather than depending only on individual operating instinct.

VLC A direct, governed operating model.

Vigil-Logic Certus was established to carry that accumulated experience forward with clearer accountability and controlled public claims.

Experience and attribution

VLC is a new company. Its operating approach is informed by experience developed through earlier roles and partner organisations. That experience informs how VLC approaches current requirements, but previous projects, client relationships and delivery outcomes are not presented as VLC work.

Four operating foundations

How that experience shapes the way we work.

These principles reflect recurring lessons from operational environments where business data changes, context matters and the requirement does not always fit a standard template.

Requirement

Requirement before volume

A larger dataset is not automatically more useful if it was not built around the intended outcome.

Evidence

Evidence before confidence

Experience helps identify where confidence would be premature. It does not justify a stronger conclusion than the evidence supports.

Context

Context before assumption

Labels, titles, classifications and technical signals can all be accurate while still carrying the wrong commercial meaning for a particular requirement.

Lifecycle

Revalidation before reuse

Companies, roles, domains and markets change. Delivery is not the end of the evidence lifecycle.

Experience and uncertainty

Experience does not remove uncertainty.

Experience helps us recognise recurring patterns more quickly. It does not justify pretending that every situation has the same answer. Where evidence remains incomplete, the uncertainty should remain visible.

Independent in structure

International in outlook.

VLC is focused on B2B data requirements across the UK, EU and US from an independent operating base, drawing on experience shaped by multiple commercial environments and data ecosystems.
